I need a VB 6 application for tracking the training of police officers. The application will use an Access database. This is a fairly simple and straight forward application that should be able to be created quickly. The application needs to allow a computer illiterate person to quickly add records. The application needs to begin to auto populate the officers name as it is being typed as well as for all drop down fields. There needs to be an interface for adding/editing/deleting records for each database table. I have included a database structure. The date field needs to auto format a date and the hours field should only take whole numbers. All fields should be searchable and the results should be able to be printed in a report format. It is not necessary to use Crystal Reports just as long as the reports are easily readable and formatted neatly. In fact, we would prefer not to use Crystal Reports. We do not want any third party components or ActiveX controls/DLL's used without prior approval. The application needs to have a nice clean XP style interface. All of the combo boxes should have *Add New* as the first entry which will work like QuickBooks in that it will allow the user to add an item and then refresh that combo box with the newly created item without losing any data already typed in. The primary purpose of this application is to maintain the training records of police officers and be able to select an officer and print their training history in a report. They also want to be able to see all officers who took a particular course title and all officers who took a course at a particular location.
