Hi, i see you need a vb application that can create self-extractable archives. am a well seasoned developer with over 8yrs experience, i'v done some googling around and I can tell you that the only to achieve such would be to utilize a 3rd party tool like makensis, 7zip, etc as vb6 in itself doesn't have such capabilities. I can code this in C# .Net and can use Zip compression engine to compress the files and make a local extractor and can make use of Resource hacking API to give default icon to the extractor. The only dependency would be the .Net Framework and yes, the development will be rapid.
