I am an experienced (7+ years and counting) electronic engineer aimed mostly to FPGA programming. I have done may projects related to displays. Most recent is a custom driver for TFT LCD panel where I developed a VHDL code using Xilinx ISE, MicroBlaze and Spartan 6 with LPDDR memory as a frame buffer and OSD data using on board SPI flash.
Skills gained in above project helped me to understand nature of various kind of displays and how to properly show an image. I am familiar with frame buffers, Vsync, refresh rate, HDMI/VGA/SDI and ways to interconnect display bus to other systems/devices.
For this particular project my work flow would be like this: discussion about details --> initial documentation and plan for the project (block diagram, proposed architecture, buses, functionality etc.) --> VHDL code development --> simulation using test bench to confirm proper operation --> final deliverables (code and documentation).
I have experience in Agile methodology and thus prefer a few milestones and frequent communication to make sure that we are on the same page. As for documentation you will get precise comments in code and also quick start documentation (introduction, how to compile/setup, block diagram, test results - if applicable) - all in English, PDF format.
