We have a hosted windows 2008 server. This server has our email server installed (hmailserver) and some applications. Everything is working OK, but I'm running out of disk space. Apparently window updates is stealing disk space particularly the WINSxS folder. The disk is 15 GB with only 830 MB left. I've googled this problem and found many answers, but I can't get any to work. It's time for an expert. Your job is to log on using remote desktop, remove any and all unnecessary files we are not using including the WINSxS Folder.

Hi, I have 10 years experience in different server platforms including Windows servers. I have a mix of experience in a large company and at this time I manage different servers like: Active Directory forest, DNS , Web servers, Exchange server, ERP Server, Endian Firewalls and I manage a virtual desktop infrastructure with terminal servers and Thin clients. Hello, Sounds like a typical problem of the sort i have encountered throughout my career. If you would like to discuss please let me know. Normally some cleanup of the root file system is required. Windows server 2008 has some file locations that cane be cleaned and depending on what applications you are running on the server there will be other files that can be removed. Hello, I'm a veteran system administrator with extensive experience and personally run hmailserver. I'm sure I can free up some space on your system. As sort of a free advice, I would also suggest once this issues is resolved, I would suggest virtualizing your server, which is free and migrating it to a larger server. If it's hosted your provider should be able to provide the needed space.
