We are seeking information on the vendor's ability and experience to develop a file conversion tool / software to convert older Microsoft Office file types to modern file types. High-level requirements are listed below: a) Convert the following file types to modern equivalents. • Word 97-2003 documents: Usually have a .doc, dot, or wbk extension. • Excel 97-2003 spreadsheets: Usually have an xls, xlt, xlm, xlsb, xla, xlam, xll, or xlw extension. • PowerPoint 97-2003: Usually has a ppt, pot, or pps extension. • Access to databases: they usually have the extension mdb, mda, ade, mdn, mdf or mde. • The vendor must inform any other possibility of conversion of file types. b) Ability to convert files in bulk and place them in a specific location. c) Ability to convert files on the fly - eg. when the user tries to access the file. d) Store metadata in the file, including but not limited to security classification, access control, etc. e) Used in the data stores used by the electronic document and records management system (for example, Content Manager), IBM Notes and DFSR locations. f) The provider must specify the expected number of files per hour in the system specifications. g) The provider must indicate if there is a file size limit. h) The ability to automatically correct OLE bookmarks and links. i) Creation of file conversion logs and integration with Splunk. j) The supplier must report any system requirements, dependencies on other systems or impacts on other systems.
