Dear all, I'm working on 3D textured meshes (.obj file representing the geometry + .png/.jpg representing the texture + (eventually) .mtl file associated to the materials). Please find an example of a textured 3D mesh here: [login to view URL] The problem is that there are 3D meshes of extensions .max or .3Ds with their associated images that I cannot read. My goal is to convert them into .obj file + one image .png or .jpg representing the texture. Here are two examples of such 3D meshes which I want to convert: [login to view URL] I would like for this job to have a small tutorial for how can I do this conversion. (using Blender or Autocad or any other software you would propose) If you have questions, please feel free to ask. Best regards

Hello, I am 15 years experienced 3d artist and software developer. I am mostly using 3ds max as my primary 3d tool. .max is a commercial file format of 3ds max software and other softwares cant read it. But you can convert it in 3ds max. .3ds is a common 3d format based 3ds max. But it is a bit outdated. Obj is ok for simple 3d mesh and texture saving and reading. I suggest that to convert .max files into obj or fbx format using 3ds max software. Then you can convert them using another software like blender. I would like to talk more and suggest better solution for your project.
