I was born with the skill of being a good writer and also can spot an error from 100 paces. That is a nuisance when I just want to enjoy a book but is a godsend for proofreading and copy editing tasks Proofreading is done in 2 stages: first I check the original document and track my changes, exactly as you described. Then I accept all changes and proofread a second time in case I have missed something or inadvertently introduced typos myself. You receive both documents. You requested a comments document – please explain what aspects will require comments. From experience, I estimate your task as being 3 hours work at my standard rate of $29 / £22 per hour = £66 I can complete it on Saturday for delivery overnight / very early Sunday morning.
