Hi It looks like Chrome/Firefox are not offering that option at the moment. What I can propose is the development of a C# application (running under windows machine) backed by the selenium web driver. The way it works is that it compiles an encrypted file from the passwords you define and your users will have to launch the intended browser via this middle application (you just instruct them to use our program's icon to open the browser) then the program launches the browser and it will fill in the passwords when it detects a URL to which it has a password. BTW I need to inform you that selenium web driver lags a little bit behind in terms of versioning so your browsers have to be always one or two versions older than their latest version.
