Opencart app to be installed on my website - PHP expert

I have purhased a opencart app which is compatible with the latest version of opencart. I have tried to install the app but it does not work. I have a theme which I bought and the developer states the app can be used on any theme. I got as far to install it correctly on my server but does not function at all.
