Hi David, You'll notice my bid is higher than usual. Please allow me to explain: Having spoken to someone over the weekend I realised my rate was in long need of revision! So my proposal would be the same fluid and robust programming and UI design as you've come to expect - way beyond what ordinary Access can provide. Plus full and prompt support of DPI and external users as usual. So I'd decided before we spoke this morning actually but you're right: the learning curve is for the developer to front - hence most of the Drupal stuff went way into (unpaid) overtime. Plus all the systems issues and in fact the PIES forms designs (which were automated) went uncharged as it was kind of experimental (for me). Justification for the rate increase would then be: A) A LOT of overtime in the past. B) Your revenue (from my English diligence!) is going to multiply the more users we get. C) Outsourcing to an external company is great for me to have but the technology isn't new to me so no learning curve - just good design and grafting. D) We're blending MySQL/VBA (object oriented)/C++/.NET/Power-shell - perhaps a rare (and valuable) collection of skills. Apologies for landing this on you - I kind of wish I'd increased my rate by lesser amounts every 3 months say... It's still at the lower end of the pay scale though I think all things considered - I hope you agree! (Also, relatively, there's not much work left on the DM so it won't amount to much.)
