Basic photo id software. ID to be printed on Plastic cards on
industry standard printers, such as Zebra or Fargo. No need for
fancy options.
The program must be able to connect to an external database
(SQL Server) and retrive data for multiple cards to be printed
in a batch.
Most fields are textual. Some graphics fields (photo, barcode,
fingerprint and signature)
Mag Stripe programming.
Smartcard in the future.
Environment: Windows.], .Net Framework 2.0 and above
Language: C# or VB.Net
## Deliverables
The above can be delivered as a .NET assembly that can be
used in our program.
Source code must be well formatted and documented.
===============================
Just to clarify the scope of this project
We are mostly interested in what happens between
the database and the printer. i.e. Graphics programming.
A good design for a .net component is:
- Take a dataset as input (table or view). Or take a connection
string and the name of a table/view as input.
- present a window with a minmum of 2 panes
? ? - toolbox (label, data, picture, barcode, fingerprint) (left side)
? ? - database pane (right side)
The middle of the window is where the card object is located so
we can position items from the toolbox on the face of the card.
- save the designed card object for later use.
- Print the cards:
? Loop through all items in the dataset and send to printer
? (this could be a separate component)
