Our client owns a paint & panel workshop for repairing cars.
We are in the process of developing an ASP.NET application for them however they would like a custom quote tool built.
For this quote tool, they wish to have a flash movie or image map (preferablly a Flash movie) load that depicts 2 "flattened down" pictures of a car. (See attachment). One car movie will depict inside panels, the second car picture should depict outside panels.
What they want is to be able to click on the panels of either the inside or outside representation of the car in the movie/image map, and have the quote automatically built.
Therefore, I would like a flash movie/image map representation of this car developed, where each panel can be assigned a value and where clicking on a panel will shade the panel in the movie, and add a record to a database table. Clicking the panel again will clear the panel colour and remove the record from the database table.
The Movie/image map should allow a record set to be sent to it that populates each of its panels with an id value and a price so that the quote can be built up for different vechicles. I don't know whether it is possible for the flash movie to be sent values for each of the panels, or whether the movie needs to read the values from a text file, however we need to be able to dynamically assign different values to each panel in some way.
If developed in flash I will require a flash 5/mx source file so that modification can be made to the finished product in the future by a 3rd party if necessary.
Priority will be given to coders that can complete this project quickly as our clients are eager to get this tool up and running.
If any coding needs to be done to get this working we need it to be in the ASP.NET VB.NET language.
