Quick piece of Java code to login to a site

I am working on integrating a HTTP API where usually you login to a site and can control locks, into a local java app that allows the "house" to preform the controls rather than the person specifically (so the whole house could be locked/unlocked without needing to click on each lock etc.) I am in need of a quick couple of Java blocks of code to preform the following functions: private static class login { public static boolean status() { /* We need to go to the login uri and check the redirect url * if it is a specific url we are logged in and return true * if it is another specific url we are not logged in and return false */ } public static boolean process() { /* We need to go to the signin uri, * fill in the username and password, * submit * check whether the login worked correctly * send success or error message to: [login to view URL](<message>); * return true/false depending on success * NOTE: I don't know what i'm talking about SO if we need to remember the session id or if it makes more sense to * return the login status with something other than true/false feel free to change from boolean to string etc. */ } } currently available variables you will need: public static final String BASE_URI = "<the site url>"; public static final String LOGIN_URI = BASE_URI + "/login"; public static final String SIGNIN_URI = BASE_URI + "/signin"; I had been leaning towards a HttpUrlConnection solution although am happy to hear of whatever you believe to be the simplest solution.
