The program is called “gambit-logit” and is one of a collection of tools for doing computation in game theory. The source code for all the tools can be found at [login to view URL] An understanding of differential equations and Newton’s method for finding a zero of a function would be useful. I require a pure Java implementation, using the Apache Commons Mathematics Library where appropriate, (and not using JNI) that produces the same output as the C++ original for different combinations of input files and flags.

Hi there! I am an expert programmer, having more than 12 years of coding experience. Since I am also a math tutor, programming tutor, programmer myself, knowing at least 7-8 different programming languages, converting C++ to Java is not too hard. I reviewed the Gambit project - I have knowledge of high level (university level) math. I bid this amount and 7 days, because I reckon it's going to take a lot of working hours to finish and to test that it indeed gives the same results. We can discuss further if you wish.

I am a programmer with a lot of experience in mathematical computations and numerical methods like the one u described in the brief. Now will check the github code. One point regarding this, i am not sure whats your main goal with this, it can be performance or readability but whit java u will lost performance, at least compared with c++ version.
