I have worked with various nonprofits on both marketing themselves and marketing individual events. I founded and was president of the philanthropy and community service club at my MBA program and one of the areas we worked with was the homeless population in LA. I have experience using Facebook, blog, Pinterest etc. to attract attention for relatively no cost. I have worked with many small businesses and understand how to market events like what you are doing. To help you gain support I would create daily posts tracking your journey, further educating on homelessness in America, and providing ways to get involved to followers. I would use Facebook, Twitter, and a blog to track your journey. I Would use Instagram to upload pictures of your journey and share it to other social media channels. In addition to the standard social media sites, I would do extensive market research to determine what other websites may be suited to your individual cause and could help support the work you are doing. I would also help you arrange events in key cities along your journey to help you interact with the local community, raise money, and build awareness.
