Hello. It's an interesting project. I've loaded the data and saw huge parsing work. You didn't mention but I bet to do it in R. It's great tool with it's text manipulating and analyzing libraries. So if you don't mind I bet for this to make job done. I think, for example, it's high need to analyze the data in `formula` field before building a parser to be more aware of variable occurrences or off-formula text characteristics. Another task is to preform control comparisons between formats. I don't know each of these formats but in this case whoever will work on it must use documentation. It's meticulous work. R can read mdb and write xlsx of course. Haven't checked but from thousands of libraries there may be some useful to discover, as always. There's for example huge 'HMisc' library when there's such function as `latexTranslate` which translates particular items in character strings to LaTeX format, e.g., makes ‘a^2 = a$^2$’ for superscript within variable labels. LaTeX names of greek letters (e.g., "alpha") will have backslashes added if greek==TRUE, etc. There's a possibility to view (plot) formatted formulas in its proper lookout. I wonder if it'd be useful to numerically evaluate composed formulas, but this may be hard, especially they are complex. Anyway, it's my point of view. Contact me if you wish. Regards, Peter.
