Rewriting small working code in client-server architecture

I have a working small project that creates HUD's windows on third party windows. The HUD's follow their associated 3º party window if moved, I need this rewritten on a client/server view because I want to run the 3º party windows inside a virtual machine but the HUD being drawn outside it (on the real machine). The "server" will run inside the virtual machine and the client outside. Furthermore the current code is exported through DLL (just 4 or 5 funcions) and I don't want to broke dependet code. So the main concept is: - The client is opened and waits indefinitely for a conection from the server - When the "server" DLL is loaded it will connect to the client, if not possible to handle on load you can add a new DLL function, connect(address) or similar... - Once the connection is done the server will forward to the client the DLL call's and another necessary info like windows coordinates.... Note that all the comunication goes one way, from server to the client. If done correctly, all my currently working code should continue working without modification (regardless some call to Connect() if needed). I will provide the currently working code, please consider your knowledge of C and DLL system, and WINAPI before bid. It should be relatively easy for someone qualified.
