Raspberry Serial MDB communication

Hello. I've experienced in Embedded Software developing. Also I familiar with digital and analog electronic. I have Raspberry Pi model B. I've connected several sensors to it: GPS via RS232, 10DOF (gyroscope, accelerometer, magnetic, pressure module) via I2C. I've made project, which communicate with bill acceptor via ICT004 protocol. Could you please provide some details? 1. Does cashless device work via MDB with any other MDB master controller? Does it work properly? 2. Have you made adapter MDB-RS232? Does it work correctly?

Hi. This can be done and I can also do the research related to the logic levels. I can propose also to you to connect the pi to my place in order to develop / experiment here without being necesary to have the hardware here. If you have a more detailed specification of the MDB protocol I'll appreciate to send it to me - the links are not presenting too much. Another technical issue is that it is using 9 bits communication, and in order to have the all freedom to set the nine'th bit it is somehow tricky cause the standard serial (as in raspberry) is only supporting fixed configuration for the last bit (parity oddd or even or fixed 1 or 0). Here I need to test if the parity can be modified before sending every byte. Anyway - there is also another way to solve this - to make the serial "bit-bang" especially cause the speed is low (9600) and in this case I can also consider the idle polarity 1 or 0 (cause the signal is done with bit/pin set/reset from the sw).
