wordpress site fixed from hack (htaccess private server)

I have a wordpress site which i used to be able to log into but am now not able to do anymore. A popup shows saying the following: "for [url removed, login to view] a username and password are required. The server indicates: private access."
Apparently it has to do with htaccess.
My question is to fix this so that i can login with my normal wordpress username and password again. Also the site needs to be protected against this.
