Global Worming

My father was head of applied math for decades. [login to view URL] I have invented a novelty. Pretend that a Rubic Cube were a magic trick. (which it is not- but if it were) You would need to break it open in order to figure out how it works. Wormhole is the size of a tennis ball, with a little oval stub at the north and south poles. A nylon strap enters the stub on the north, brilliantly circles around inside of the (for now) "solid" ball, and comes out the stub on the south. The nylon strap is no more than 3 feet long. It is 3/4 of an inch wide, and 1/16 of an inch thick. We need to design a sheaf (a passageway) for the strap to circulate inside of the ball such that it does not tie itself into a knot as it passes through. I have the design. It is very clever. But.... I need someone smart enough to help it "gently" twist and turn on its voyage such that there is as little friction as possible. Actually, we only need a design for half the ball because, there is a special kind of symmetry that will allow us to reproduce the top half, place it on the bottom, and rotate it 180 degrees to create the final Wormhole. I need a prototype in order to make certain that it works inside of such a small ball. Ultimately I will send the working prototype (and the program) to a company that does injection molding. They will have to further cut the "half ball" into two parts in order to accommodate the injection molding process.
