I am a California EIT mechanical design engineer for a business unit of Curtiss-Wright, in the commercial nuclear power industry. I perform engineering design and flow analysis using SolidWorks for custom Nozzle Check valves, as well as design and troubleshooting efforts for legacy control valves from both Marotta and Circle Seal Controls. I graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering during May of 2012. It is an honor and a privilege to be considered for this freelance opportunity. I am the designer and draftsman for all valves I work on, and my machining and assembly drawings are high quality and conform to ANSI Y14 standards. I take a very exact approach to my drawings, with a heavy regard for tolerance, stacking of tolerances, machinist feasibility, GD&T, and dimensional completeness. I have drawn many, many valve designs and have learned what makes the most sense for mechanical mating parts as far as choosing how to dimension and define a part with precision fits, complex geometry, and gas/liquid sealing requirements for metal-to-metal seats or resilient elastomeric seats. My tolerance selections are based on ANSI B4.1 and operational experience in the valve industry.
