Access/MS-SQL Advanced Database Project (Part Two) Looking for a database freelancer to work on large projects on an on going basis. This could be stable good money for the right person. We need a freelancer with enough time free to work on complex things when we need to, not someone that can only work a few hours a week at night. This job project here is a small sample of the work to proof yourself qualified and able to work well with our team. The job requires you to go to about 10 different websites (which we will provide) and download certain databases in multiple different formats, CSV, DBF, TAB etc and with different columns. This data is similar but with different heading and structure. Your job is to follow our instructions (which will be provided) to normalize the data into a single SQL database, which you will send to us. This process takes us approximately 4 days to complete in-house, we expect you to complete in about 7 days for this first time. Working advance knowledge in the following: • MS Access data processing: o Must know how to work with raw tables (field/table definitions, relationships, etc) o Import/Export from/to different formats (SQL, CSV, DBF, ETC) o Build and run queries (append, update and select queries a must!) o Integration with MS Excel • MS SQL o Required knowledge of MS-SQL queries or o At least working-intermediate knowledge of conversion to and from MS SQL o PostgreSQL and MySQL knowledge desired but not a must • General o Must know how to troubleshoot (normalize and standardize) “bad” data o Must be able to figure out gaps in instructions to make sure there is little to zero down-processing-time o Must know how to navigate, search and update through Internet links and broken links

Hi! This looks like challenging task and I cannot tell much how will I do it which I usually do. My question - is it possible, without any obligation for you to give me a test task and, if I do it, we can talk about bid and amount and what actually needs to be done? Note that this is generic bid amount, I have no idea about real work I need to do, but I know I am working with MS Access only since 1994 and version 2 and that I was twice Microsoft Access MVP. What normal form you are using? I assume at least 3rd? As for output format, I see you need SQL Server. I have it running with both MySQL server, but I can send database in any format you like. I find MS Access format easier to work with until data are imported into SQL database. Best regards, Branislav Mihaljev

Hi, I am a dedicated database developer and programmer - I mainly write databases in Access using VBA but also do a lot of work with VB.Net (2013 is the latest one I am working with currently but can go back as far as VB 6.0), and have done plenty of work building SQL database (I have SQL 2012 but again, can go back a fair way in the versions). I constantly write code in both Access and VB.Net to import/export data out of and into SQL or Access - write queries to update, insert, append etc - as well as many select queries with customized VB/VBA functions and parameters. I also write VBA programs in Excel to import and export data from various data sources, and also do a lot of work building custom applications for SAGE Accpac - writing to and from the SQL database using VB.Net and VBA in Access. I work full time for myself doing this type of work - I do not have any other job - so am constantly looking for additional clients to build relationships with. I am still working for the last USA client - we have been building and amending her Access database for the past 18 months! I think I have the competences you mention in the "working knowledge list" (or I can easily acquire them). I also like the idea of a gradual approach to verify if we can work together. I am not a "part time freelancer", nevertheless I am a freelancer, so I could not always assure you a "full time availability ", nor a "fixed, short time readiness" in case of need (like an employee would).
