I have attached an excel spreadsheet that simulates what I am trying to accomplish. The sheet E values contains known embryonic days. The sheet y=LN(E-k) contains a known value for y, which as shown in the sheet is 5.29. These values are what are consider actuals. The k value needs to be scaled from 0-10 in increments of .01. The event + species sheet contains simulated values that I hand scaled. These values should be scaled using 3 digit precision from .5 to 2.5 in increments of .001. the scaled values need to get as close as possible to the actual values for the know events. The errors sheet give the difference between the known and the actual and the error squared sheet squares the error values. I need to predict the optimal value for k, species score, and event score. The errors squared total should be below 1.0. I also want the RMS value and a scatter plot of the actual and scatter plot of the predicted species and event scores.
