the aim of this project is to remove the CT
acquisition and, in its place, to create pseudo-CT images based on the MRI acquisition.
On the MRIdian, only one MRI sequence-type (TrueFisp) is currently available offering a
mixed T2/T1 contrast. Therefore, tissue characterization is not as straightforward as with
absolute T1 or T2 images (Bojorquez et al. PLoS One. 2019; 14(2)). As a first intention,
the study will focus on a pelvic localization (prostate) and on a limited number of tissues
such as bone, fat and soft tissue.
The final purpose will be to show that the dose distribution calculation deviation between
an acquired and a pseudo-CT is limited and clinically acceptable.
