The project requests the secure/encrypted file transfer between an existing Linux server and remote client site through Internet, below is some basic requirements. 1. Linux server runs Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS (GNU/Linux 3.13.0-32-generic x86_64) 2. Remote side will be on windows OS, should support windows server and windows 7, 8, 10 etc. However it had better to include other OS, like linux etc. So java application is preferred . 3. Each remote site represents a customer, the system should support multi customers. 4. The files transferred is small size txt plain file (<64KB usually). 5. Some key requirements: a. Secure, 2-way transmission, file should be encrypted during transmission, transmission protocol is flexible. b. Mechaniusm to make sure full file are transmitted, not only part of file. c. Username/password to protect authorized access. d. Something like heart-beat mechanism to make sure LINUX server will be informed if the connection is down or client application is irresponsible. e. In case of loss of heart beat, Linux will send email to configurable email addresses to notice customer and server admin to take their actions. f. Log file at server end to provide some statistic info as well troubleshooting info, detail requirement follows.
