Hello, I have worked with Raspberry Pi for many projects including home automation, video surveillance, media center, small website hosting. For this type of project I usually code a Python web application that is loaded automatically in a Chromium web browser in kiosk mode at startup; since you also require a backend for this project for configuration settings I think this approach will work well. However I have also created desktop applications on the Pi using PyQT. What RF receiver do you plan to use? I'm also a huge fan of raspebbry pi and I code on it very often. In general, my plan for the project is to create a python app with a key value storage for the settings and user accounts, accessible from the lan network and of course, raspberry's local browser via localhost. The app will be able to communicate with the receiver and display the text. For the pictures I would use the web UI to upload them and display them through the window. For the display part of the project I would store settings related to the window states (full screen, dimensions, etc) in order to force them realtime whenever the settings are changed by the user via the web UI / RF or any other Interface. If you'd like, provide further details for your project answering the questions below What do you mean by saying local browser? The local browser on the raspberry pi or it's acceptable to use the app via LAN network? If a lan connection is acceptable to manage the raspberry pi app, then, why do you actually want the RF Receiver for? If the RF Receiver is a requirement anyway, then, is there any existing transmitter? What type of Receiver would you like to use? Can you please provide more detailed specifications for the Receiver and Transmitter part? What settings would you like to have except those mentioned earlier?
