Get & Group the result data from MySQL DB

Hello, the first section is to get the Expenses table data, the table looks like date || category || amount 20-08-2015 || Rent || 100 20-07-2015 || Rent || 200 15-08-2015 || Phone || 50 13-08-2015 || Phone || 70 I want to group this results in categories like this: Rent: 300 Phone: 120 [Get Top 5 Categories which has many entries and group the rest in one group "Others"] the second section is: Get and group the income entries in top 3 categories and the rest in one category "Others" and get top 3 expenses categories and group the rest in one category "Others" and get the total profit, the result should looks like: Income: Online Sales: 500 Store Sales: 1000 Total Sales: 1500 Expenses: Fixed Costs: 100 Variable Costs: 200 Total Costs: 300 Total Profit: 1200. and to get the data based on Date Range.
