Hi developers, designers, strategists and security experts, We are an undisclosed charity and provide support to thousands of young people each week through online games and social media. As part of our growth, we are now exploring the possibility of developing our own platforms to support young people and are looking for an indication of possibilities and costs. We would like to develop the following: Element 1: Using natural language, users will be able to ask a question related to bullying. In response to their question, an algorithm will automatically select static articles of support that may be appropriate. For example, if somebody typed in a question about fruit – articles on apples, pears and pineapples would show. Element 2: Also integrated into the platform is an online community of likeminded individuals who want to connect with others and to get and share advice on related issues. We anticipate the community to have a similar functionality to ‘Yahoo Answers’ in the sense that it will be designed to connect questions with answers, instead of people with people. We would utilise a voting system to float the most suitable answers to the top. Responses from charity staff or voluntary mentors will automatically show first. Element 3: Integrated into the platform is a button enabling users to speak to a fully trained digital mentor in real-time. This service will initially be a referral-based system, meaning that users will need to receive an invitation to speak to a mentor. Included in this project, we will need to have security specialists. We would like both projects to be user friendly, intuitive and innovative. We anticipate that we may need to build a virtual task force for this project and understand that it requires a varied skill set. We will have a more detailed specification in the coming weeks, but are eager to find potential developers who we could work with.
