Shopping Cart For Mobile Devices (on palm, pocket pc, smartphone, symbian platforms)

We need shopping cart software for mobile devices like Phone, PDA and Handhelds that runs on Palm OS, Pocket PC, SmartPhone and Symbian platforms. More platforms can be added at later stage as separate projects. Here's how the shopping cart will function: 1. Download Catalog: a) PC: End users will be able to download the catalog of products on their PC and then transfer it to their mobile device using Microsoft ActiveSync. b) Direct: End users will be able to connect to a web site or url from where they can initially download the catalog. Once the catalog is downloaded on mobile device, end users will be asked if they would like to check for updated catalog, if user agrees, new additions to the catalog will be downloaded directly on mobile device. 2. Surfing: End users can surf through all available products in different categories in catalog, read description, check price, see picture of product (it can also be a small animation like *.GIF file). 3. Trial: If user is interested in a downloadable software product and if a trial version is available, user can choose to download the trial version and see it working on user's mobile device before purchasing full version. 4. Order: Users can select multiple products to purchase, see contents of the shopping cart and make payment via credit card. If user is placing order for downloadable product, the download should start as soon as the payment is confirmed. The downloadable software product can be any software (like a game or office application etc.) that is compatible with platform of customer's mobile device. If the product is not downloadable, user will see a Thank You page. An order confirmation email will be sent to customer and to site administrator in all cases (for downloadable and non-downloadable products). Thank you for taking time to place your bid. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables): a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ***** Compatibility: If you can provide a generic solution that is compatible with all or most of the platforms like Palm OS, Pocket PC, SmartPhone and Symbian, that will be great. But if that is *impossible*, then you can offer us solutions specific to one platform to start with, we can split our requirements in multiple bids as separate projects. Size Matters! : We want our shopping cart to be compatible with as many mobile devices as possible, so the shopping cart software (that accompanies initial download of catalog and facilitates the order processing) should be as small as possible. It should weigh in Kilo Bytes not Mega Bytes ;-) ## Platform Resumeable Download: Preferably, there should be a feature to resume the download if user's internet connection is broken while download of a trial or full version software product is in progress. Multiple Currencies: User will have to enter the country, from where the user will be placing orders. This will also determine the currency, in which the user will see the price of all products. Please bid on this project only if you have verifiable experience of programming solutions for mobile devices. You can bid even if you don't have experience of all above mentioned platforms. We can start with one platform if a common solution for multiple platforms is *impossible*. Please mention, what development tools you plan to use and how you plan the design of the end solution. Tell us, the inherent or explicit limitations of your solution.
