2 simple software installs and light WP layout changes

I own [[url removed, login to view]][1] and I want to revamp and update this wordpress blog.

Here are the 2 softwares I want to install on my blog

And the layout changes are widening the 2 columns and putting the category widget just above the posts in "tab" form instead of in the sidebar as a list.

I also want to delete the membership plugin, I don't need it anymore.
