The RTF ruby gem currently does not support single pages in landscape mode. I have an application which requires some pages to be in landscape mode.
While my team has added some functionality to the gem to do this, it triggers a certain bug in Microsoft Word which causes the RTF to not be saved in .docx format. (although .doc seems to be fine).
I also can save documents in word in RTF format with some landscape pages, and they work fine.
I here are links to two RTF documents. This problem can be demonstrated by opening both documents (in word 2007+) and saving both as .docx. you will see that one of them will not re-open.
#1 - generated in application (broken): <[login to view URL]>
#2 - generated in word (works): <[login to view URL]>
What I need you to do is isolate the tags which are causing the second one (generated by word) to save correctly, by comparing it with the first one (generated by my application). I need to know which RTF tags I need to include in the gem. I will bonus $50 if you include them in the RTF ruby gem yourself, too.
Note that Word also generates a bunch of other tags we don't need - I need you to isolate the ones that will make just the landscape mode work.
This can be done by analysis of the tags (by opening the rtf in a text editor). It also might involve some trial and error in saving .docx files to see which RTF tags will make this work.
In other words, I need you to point out what is missing in the RTF generated in my application to make it save in word.
Thank you.
