Hello,

RE: [[url removed, login to view]][1] - Website Manager First up, let me please emphasise that this is a relatively simple maintenance/management role - and there is no real call for advanced software engineers. Of course, you are welcome to apply if a role working in media related magazines interests you, as does the compensation offered. I hope this saves these people's time and prevents unnecessary effort. If you are an accomplished pro Joomla 1.5 site manager with competent Adobe skills and an excellent eye for cool design, please read on!

## Deliverables

**Hello,

I am the CEO/Editor-in-Chief of [url removed, login to view] & [url removed, login to view], two magazines [webzines] that concentrate on the advertsing, marketing, communications and visual design in the Asia-Pacific. Although the magazines are relativley new, we have made a huge impact in the industry. In contrast to a number of older magazines, these are fun, colourful, irreverent and very entertaining - we even have 'Adfab' a slick fashion magazine within the site. I need to be able to devote my long days to interviews and assisting my team of journalists - and I simply don't have time to look after managing the websites.

Here's what I need from you each month:

** ** **

**You will be responsible for managing content and user needs, and moderating the users' uploads to groups and galleries. For [url removed, login to view] especially, this means uploading / formating interviews and articles including images and videos - so basic layout skills and an eye for good design are needed. We will provide the words and pictures - you just need to drop them into place. For the 'Adfab' flip-book section an understanding of design and attractive layout would be ideal - so some Adobe skills. The gig also includes managing the mail list and preparing the simple [url removed, login to view] newsletter using [[url removed, login to view]][2]/ with content from the monthly updated site. You will also be in charge of managing the ' fashion models' section of the [url removed, login to view] website. I strongly recommend visiting [url removed, login to view] and taking a look to see what is involved.

** **

**

**This part-time job covers managing two sites running Joomla 1.5.

Site #1: [url removed, login to view] [[url removed, login to view]][3] - launched March '09**

**Site #2: [url removed, login to view] - in development and coming soon.

More about us:

*"[url removed, login to view] is an aggregation website equaling if not bettering the other design dumps elsewhere on the Web. Other than being strictly focused on the Asia-Pacific, the significant point of difference is that the site will boast considerably more in-depth editorial coverage of the 'creationists'. In tandem with [url removed, login to view] this free resource will profile creatives - rather than simply featuring their hard work as is too often the case. These resources will offer the best and most promising of the creatives exposure to the most influential audience imaginable across the Asia-Pacific. Further, in collaboration with globally awarded creative design professionals and corporate partners, we will provide scholarships and exposure for pre-stylists - the future grown-ups of cutting edge graphics, fashion, illustration, photography, design, digital and multimedia, art-direction, advertising, interactive and all cool-centric movements across Asia. Just because we're non-for-profit, doesn't mean you can't. It's all about Communicating Stylishly"*

If you visit the [url removed, login to view] website and take note of our extrordiarily high-calibre monthly contributors - such as Ian Stewart [fmr global VP of MTV]; Shu Fen of R3 Group; Andrew Coppin, et al] and the stature of the luminaries such as Neil French, Edmund Choe, and global ECD of McCann Jeremy Perot & MNCs like Microsoft across Asia-Pacific whom we interview, you will realise that this is an extremely valuable site to be associated with - and probably one for your portfolio.

**

**You must have a working knowledge with the following Joomla software. PLEASE NOTE that we do NOT require software engineers as our back-end development work is already complete. if you are an expert programmer, you are 100% overqualified for this role: **

**JoomlaAgency (component) - to expertly manage the site's advertising requirements

**

**Community Builder (component)**

** **

**GroupJive (component)**

** **

**SIMGallery Pro (component)**

** **

**Simple Gallery Pro (module)**

** **

**Very simple gallery (extension)**

** **

**FlippingBook (component)**

** **

**Rokslide (front page module)**

** **

**JoomlaXTC VAI MediaCenter (front page module)**

** **

**Knowledge of html and joomla CMS is essential, and ability to work with Flash is helpful.

**

**NB: Obviously, it will be an advantage if you have taken the "Joomla 1.5 Test" on Odesk.**

This is a new company, and there is opportunity for growth based on proven performance. We are a start-up and there is a global recession, so please be realistic in your costing. Around US$5 is the figure a qualified person would ask. if you are excellent, we will pay you accordingly. Some Odesk providers have posted a lower hourly rate, which i have noted and this will obviously help me decide which provider to award the work to. My intention is that this is a permanent role. My web designers assure me tha this is not a particularly stressful position and shouldn't take much time. Generally, it is just before our publishing deadline that you may tend get a *little busier.

If you have any references and examples of your work, and especially websites that you manage, definitely include them in your response. I require you to echo my brief and 'tick each box' from the list above - letting me know that you are fully competent in using each of the modules. If I have invited you on Odesk and you are an affiliate [non-independent] provider, I must insist on one account director to be my single point of contact. How you achieve the work is up to you.

If you would kindly take a little time to let me know that you fully understand this brief and let me know why you or your company are the 'perfect fit', it will certainly improve your chance of success - and I will anticipate a long and mutually beneficial relationship together.

I would prefer that you and your team were working from within India/SE-Asia for time zone reasons - but I am open to other countries if they fall into a workable time zone. Thank you for your time today. I will very much look forward to talking to qualified candidates.

Best wishes,

Richard
