Update existing .net application - Long-term programmer

Freelancers, We at Toil Software are in need of an ASP.net 4.0 C# Programmer with SQL Server 2008 experience. Our windows application: MOD, was build here on freelancer.com – however we have lost contact with the original programmer and are seeking someone who is interested in this and future updates to this software program. We have a lot of features we want to add to MOD going forward, so we are looking for a long-term freelancer. ------ Because this is a live application we must demand that we receive prompt responses from our freelancers; we don’t pester, but we have to maintain open communication for our customers. All messages from us marked as CRITICAL must be answered within 1 business day. All others within 5 business days. ------ We are not programmers, simply a small team trying to satisfy the needs of our customers. We can provide a description of what we want, and our ideas on how to get there – but ultimately we are counting on you, the programmer, for developing the best way to implement changes. We also provide update requests & bug lists in a detailed and usable form. Summary: MOD was designed as a windows application capable of printing money orders and tracking sales figures of those sales. MOD is divided into 3 parts: Server Client- Runs as a windows service on our Windows Server 2008 R2, communicates with SQL Server 2008 R2 on the same machine. SQL database contains tables with information on money orders, companies, tellers, licensing etc. Teller Client- Runs on window x32 & x64 bit systems using Windows’s “oneclick” software to streamline updates & initial installation. This client is used to actually send the money order information to the printer (Okidata 320 Turbo) utilizing window’s standard language. It also sends the information to the server. The client is capable of running basic reports (daily sales total for example). Admin Client- Contains much of the same code as the teller client, but is capable of changing user information, advanced reporting, e-mail notification settings, manual money order adjustment, and more. Whats the job? So here’s our dilemma. MOD stores the settings specific to that computer (printer name, store number, license key, etc)… somewhere, we aren’t sure where exactly, probably in a temp file. The issue is that we keep losing the saved settings at random. Sometimes they stay for a month, sometimes a day or less. MOD does have a way to import/export settings, but it doesn’t always work and is very annoying to our end users. We would instead like to save these settings in our SQL server database that holds the rest of MOD’s information. Perhaps you could use some unique identifier from the computer such as the LAN MAC address to link the database entry to the computer they match up to. The only exception would be the server address itself – but you could do something different there such as default to the only server we currently have. We will also need you to apply the update to our production server. So there you have it a relatively simple update. If you have any questions whatsoever, please don’t hesitate to send me a message.
