I need a MySQL hierarchical query written that returns all of the descendants of an item and the level away from the parent. I'm attaching an E-R diagram of the 2 tables, resources and collectionelements. I'm looking for all of the recursive descendants (other resources related in collectionelements) for a given resource. A resource can be of type = 'collection' or 'resource'. So if a descendant is a resource of type = 'collection' we need to continue finding descendants for that branch. Here is one place to start, but since my id values are not ascending, I think this needs modification : [login to view URL]
The deliverable should be a query that returns the resourceids of all descendants, resource title, resource type, level and indentation similar to what is shown in the link above for a given resourceid.
