As the creator of a new website based around Japanese goods, I require a lawyer to give us advice on customs offices, and whether or not to copyright trademark our website name internationally.
1. I am making a new E commerce website in Japan. I have the url already paid with google. I am creating trademark of our business name in Japan. But my staff told me I have to pay 300,000 yen to copyright our name globally online. What do you think ?
Is it necessary to copyright / trademark our business online ?
If so, how can we register an international trademark for our name. To stop theft or scammers around our intelectual property.
2. We also have some questions about Japan postage customs office. Importing and exporting products to and from Japan.
I want to ask the most affordable ways to lower freight costs, import taxes, legally, and how to account for customs taxes and import taxes in Japan annually. We want to lower our tax payments as much as possible. And as legally as possible.
I have questions about what I can and cannot declare for importing products to Japan.
For example, I have a small office in America. A middleman collects postage and freight purchased in America from different sellers and a wholesaler /distributor. I then combine all of my purchases, mail and send it to my head office in Japan. However, do I have to declare full original purchase value ? If it is changing to our own store inventory and our own middleman, shipping to myself from myself. Legally what is the lowest we can declare value wise ?
And if the product bought at wholesale changes ownership, and is unpackaged, or repacked. Does it alter the minimum value we have to declare ?
How is the accounting side calculated at the end of the year?
