JQuery UI autocomplete combobox modify to insert value if not matched

This combobox uses values from a select to do a search and match.
Everything is fine when you have a match.
But when you don't , it doesn't do anything with the typed in string.
The task I need is a modification of this, to insert an <option> value containing the inputed string if no autocomplete doesnt find match.
eg <option value="inputedstring" selected>inputedstring</option> and return it as a autocomplete match, thus making the input usable.
The purpose is so whatever is inputed, gets posted when the form is save, no matter if autocomplete finds a match.
I'm tied up in it, can't figure out the best approach, so please help.
