The description below is also outlined in the attached Word document with Photos.
I am the project manager of a property developers company in Cyprus and I am tasked to build the company’s website. I have no knowledge of hard coded HTML and Javascript and I using Dreamweaver MX to build the site. I require the following functionality on the website:
I have several maps (in JPEG) of different areas of Cyprus and I would like to place small images of houses on them (GIF clip art) to designate the locations of the property developments.
For one specific map, the developments are too many (47) and I am trying to have a text URL map key (legend) under the area map, which will list all 47 developments. When a visitor hovers over one of these text URLs I would like:
1. The URL txt to change colour (from blue to underlined red for example)
2. The equivalent house-GIF on the area map to be highlighted (or ideally animated or replaced by an equivalent animated GIF) so it is easily spotted by the visitor.
Also, if the visitor hovers on top of a house-GIF directly on the map, I would like that to be highlighted or animated.
The company plans to start new developments in the future and I would like to be able to add more GIFs on different map areas, therefore I am not just interested for someone to do the above task but to SHOW me how to do this. I believe this might involve a combination of Photoshop and DHTML skills. It might also require some Javascript. If this requires JavaScript, I would like this to be in a dynamic format so it will allow beginners like me to be able to add more projects on my maps and more URLs on my URL map keys (legends) as and when we need them.
I have attached the map and the house clip art separately.
Many thanks and happy bidding,
Andreas Spiliotis
Project Manager.
