Analyze some Data with R - provide summary level statistics

I need an R script to create basic statistical analysis. The script needs to: 1. Accept a dataset: CSV, Spark, or SQLServer 2. Discover each field and Provide basic summary level statistics - min/max/mean/median/stdev/variance/distinctvalues/etc.. 3. Generate a png image for each field depending on its datatype - textcloud (text), bar chart (categories) distribution chart (numeric), time series matrix (datetime), etc.. --> I will be using this script to: 1) Automate the initial analysis of new datasets 2) Run on a schedule to track how the dataset changes over time Parameters: 1. ConnectionString for Type - Location - Permissions 2. Dataset for NameOfDataFile or Query or DataFrame 2. OutputDataLocation for the returned data 3. OutputFileLocation for the returned images I am integrating this into an existing Java based application that handles file transfers. I have a publicly available server and test databases ready and available for SQL Server and Hadoop/Spark. This is a POC project to test viability of R for my needs. I will open a 2nd larger project upon successful completion.
