Create a straight-forward ASP.NET admin dashboard GUI that enables admin to be able to monitor an existing SQL Server database (job and user status db). SKILLS REQUIRED .NET, ASP.NET, MVC, C# Programming, Microsoft SQL Server, Unix, Windows Server PROJECT DESCRIPTION We are a consumer genomics company that provides tools for people to explore their genome. Customers upload their genetic data and can launch a variety of apps that transform the data into understandable information. When a customer launches an app, it is given a unique job number and placed in a queue for execution. Jobs are tracked in a SQL Server database. From this database, admin can retrieve information about the job status, the job parameters, and the information about the results. Currently, retrieving information about jobs requires direct access to the database and knowledge of SQL. This project is to build a GUI that will allow non-SQL admin users to evaluate job status. Our backend stack includes C#, .NET, MS SQL Server, and MVC, running on Azure and standalone servers. PROJECT MANAGEMENT • We will provide access to a development server and example database. All work will must be completed using our development server. • We will provide access to a Bitbucket repo. All code must be deposited into the repo at the end of each day. • Milestone, code, and progress reviews will be conducted periodically. • Communication will be via Slack, email and Skype. • Approved completion of each milestone will be determined solely by our team. SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS • The software shall provide a GUI interface to monitor the existing jobs database. • The software shall be written in C# and ASP.NET. • The software shall be a web app hosted internally. • The software shall enforce a highly secure connection to the database. • The software shall distinguish between a basic user and a superuser. • The software shall allow all users to see the current status of all unfinished jobs. • The software shall allow all users to input a job id to retrieve a summary of the job status. • The software shall allow all users to input a user id to retrieve a list of active jobs. • The software shall allow a superuser to cancel a job. MILESTONES 1. GUI design mockup. 2. Working prototype. 3. Production software. 4. Finalized software following QC, resolving bugs, etc. PAYMENTS Payment will be milestone based: 1. 5% 2. 10% 3. 20% 4. 65% ADDITIONAL INFO We are looking for a devops expert who can both maintain servers and software, as well as undertake troubleshooting and software development projects. Successful completion of the project may lead to an on-going work. Preference will be given to local candidate in the greater Los Angeles area, but strong remote applicants will be considered.

Hi, we are Microsoft Registered Partners, we have Products/Services of our own in Azure, like Web Apps, SQL Azure, Cognitive Services, we have deploy products for customers in azure. We develop in C# (VS 2017), we do web in ASP.NET Core 2.1 (Same as MVC but faster) or Classic Web Forms. Instead of bitbucket we use Azure Dev Ops (former VS Team Services), but thats ok I'm willing to do a proof of concept for you, no awarding needed for that, we will create a query that will fetch job status, the job parameters, and the information about the results just to demostrate that we are the right pick. Real Time Update - This terms can change the complete scenario including budget and cost. Though, you have not said that you want to display real time Database update in UI. As most of the dashboard needs to update on real time. Now, before I give you some idea or consultancy I need your Current Database. So that I can imagine and understand what data needs to display and how I can display them in UI. May you have some sketch in your mind or paper which we can discuss in chat window. Do you want to start with any Admin ready theme? Look, there is a good Free theme called "AdminLTE", I worked with it and can confirm you that its not a buggy theme at all. Apart from AdminLTE you can go with "Metronic Dashboard" which is a good readymade theme option too. Let me know when we can chat further. Please do not award directly before any further discussion.
