Job Title: Live Audio Engineer / String Player
Job Description: A growing national tour is looking for an experienced tour engineer that can play violin, viola, or electric cello (something that travels easily).
The engineer will ensure that mixes for a 5 person band are the same in different venues, should be able to assess potential sound issues in various venues and work to overcome them. They should be able to add effects (delay echo and chorusing effect on vocals) and learn the show to understand who is singing lead, etc.
Additionally they will be asked to take the stage as a performer and play solo and background string parts. Some understanding of nonwestern string sounds/ tuning would be useful.
The tour has just launched and has just a few dates through the season in the USA. As it continues to grow, we expect a dozen or more dates next season and so on.
Pay will be greater than union scale, plus travel, private hotel room and some tour perks.
This is a major tour with major artists.
Salary: above union scale
Contact us: ONLY if you are an experienced tour audio engineer AND can play a string instrument as a soloist, please contact us.
