Time and attendance management

We have 2 types of time clocks, one we are using at the moment is Linux based, we use a windows service (developed in-house) that collects the timestamp from the time clocks and injects them into a SQL database.

We are using a web based application where devices can be added, edited, this is also the place we create/edit users, view time stamps, and formulate results into reports.

The other type of time clock is a window CE device, which is still in development; it will use windows services to communicate directly with the database. If we can find the right programmer developing the windows CE clock may also be added.

We want to develop a windows application that will call on the windows service for communicating with the Linux based clock, and allow the manager/s to setup award variables, rosters, and view/print actual/payable hours, and if staff are following their roster, which is important for OHS.

One of the reasons we want a windows application over our present web application is not all of our customers need to work over a WAN, our customers range from small business one clock working over LAN with no interest setting up award variables, and rosters, to larger business with multiple clocks nationwide with 1000’s of staff on different award variables and different roster requirements. So the application should be easy enough to be installed by user (so very simple), but still have the ability to service to larger customers with complex needs.

To cater for the range of customers we have, we feel our small basic need customers would be best with single install .exe that uses an Access database. And our larger customers would have the option to install on a server, point it to a Microsoft SQL or MySQL database and access it over the web.

I am presently working on detailed design criteria, which will be made available to the right programmer.

(No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the employer on the site per the worker's Worker Legal Agreement).

2) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

3) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Employer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Worker in ready-to-run condition in the Employer's environment.
