Code XSLT file to transform XML to Microsoft Word

We have a set of XSLT files that transform XML into an HTML doc. We need a matching set of XSLT files that transform the same XML into an identical-looking Word doc. We will supply all the files we use now to create HTML. Word must be in 97-2003 format, due to users having older versions of Word. Recommended process is to convert the HTML file into a Word file in 97-2003 format, adjust the Word file until it looks exactly like the HTML, then plug the Word 'coding' from that doc into an XSLT file. The XSLT does have input variables in addition to the XML input file. The XSLT does have the ability to vary the output based on input variables and XML element values. This project is ready to go and we would like to have it completed asap.
