Create a simply homepage with joomla for a art gallery

I want to get a simply homepage for my art galery. It should be created with joomla 1.5. The attached excel file shows how the structure should be - I also wrote some comments in it. Furthermore I attached one example painting, that you get an impression what I'm doing - that is importing because the homepage should give an harmonic impression. The following things must be possible:
- It shoud be a picture gallery, which is easy to update and maintain
- There should be an option on the homepage to change the language
- No additionally design is neccessary, only one "picture" on the headline
- The homepage should look simply and elegant
