My initial response will be to move to XENAPP / XENDESKTOP 7.5, Store Front with Netscaler for secure remote access. It will be a new installation as their is no direct migration path for the upgrade and Citrix has introduced new FlexCast architecture. I've extensive experience with citrix especially around licensing. It's very simple to migrate the licensing to a new clean server, but it's updating the farms licensing setup where you need to be careful to ensure a clean migration of the license information. Don't panic is my first bit of advice, the desktop servers will revert to a 30 day licensing grace period if there are any issues, I'm used to diagnosing the licensing as you can see. Would be great to work with you, I've experience with citrix from 4.5 to 7.2 in upto a 10,000 concurrent operation. Brett

Hello, I can help you with your project. I have experience in installing and configuring XenServer. Inside the server, I installed Windows 2008 R2. I had licenses both for XenApp and XenDesktop. Installing the licensing server is easy but it can be tricky sometimes. When you say you want to rebuild the server, do you mean that you are willing to install everything from scratch? Also , when you refer to the Citrix database do you mean the Citrix licensing server? What is your current setup inside XenServer? I mean, how many virtual servers do you have? Just one? How are you handling security with Active Directory (AD) in the same server as XenDesktop or an outside AD server? What are the technical specs of your physical server?
