Crack / Hex an old DOS program altering function in an EEPROM

My project here is to crack/hex an old DOS software. Runs on DOS or from WinXP in DOS. The software is used to connect to an engine controller for Electric car. And is 15 years old, so should be very low security. The SW version I have is an Consumer Version and I have to call a center (gone many years ago, bankrupt) to get an code to punch in and this opens up the option to alter the values. I'm pretty sure it's an developer version for this SW as well without the need to enter an code to get access to alter the values. The fields is stared out. I need to get the program source checked for the routines and see about it's possible to remove this limtiation and make it to developer version.
