Project Manager looking to hire a Game Maker programmer to help complete a first level demo of a potentially larger project on the PC. This level is essentially top down, somewhat like the early Zelda games, and incorporates jumping and minor platforming. Additionally it should have a hybrid style of game play that allows for the player to enter into a side battle, a la Final Fantasy, if an enemy is within a certain range (determined by a stat) and the player presses a button on an XBOX gamepad. Most of the visual assets, animation and some music has been created for the game and the programmer should only have to plug these into the engine that they end up designing. Knowledge of some rudimentary AI will be necessary to assign behaviors to the enemy characters and this level utilizes shaders and objects with certain light properties which will need to be dealt with. Some of the basics of the game have been completed, with the exception of the menus, and side view battle system and the programmer will need to simplify and build upon this earlier code, though some of it can certainly be jettisoned if necessary.
I've been working with GM:S for ~2-3 years now, I haven't finished an actual game yet (only some "simulators" e.g. "time waste simulator") but that's mainly because I have noone to do graphics for me, I have over 5 years of experience in C/C++, which I'll be using to do extensions that will make my work easier
Dear we have been in this industry for 5 years and such jobs are our daily practice. This is our first time on this site and hence you can see that we do not have any ratings/testimonials to show you. we can assure you that if you work with us once, you will always work with us for these kind of projects.
I am a game developer that specializes in gameplay development, which is specifically what you are asking for. I will have further questions questions regarding your exact wants (For example, why would you use shaders when the rest of the game is 2D? It'd be easier and cheaper just to do a light mask), but this doesn't seem like a difficult task.
