Barcode Capture/HL7 Interface

We require a Windows application (must be Windows 7 compatible) than can use a USB-connected high-resolution video/web camera to capture multiple DataMatrix barcodes within the image at the same time, and use the values captured to transmit formatted HL7 messages to a TCP interface. The application will be stand-alone. Workflow will be as follows: * User identifies themselves via RFID card (using connected, COM-based RFID card reader) (this will require some type of user database configuration and setup functionality) * User uses touch-screen screen interface to indicate the total count of barcodes expected to be captured * Application analyzes image from attached camera, decodes barcodes, and verifies the number of barcodes found matches what user indicated in step 2 * If number does not match, the system re-acquires and decodes * If number still does not match, user is requested to re-enter the number of expected barcodes * When number matches the user will use a touch-screen interface to designate a 'location' where the barcodes are going (this will require a location configuration and setup functionality) * The values of the decoded barcodes, user information, and location are used to generate a series of HL7 messages (formatted to specifications that will be provided) that the software will transmit over a TCP interface * The software will inform the user of success or failure, and return to the user identification screen. * The software will retain a record of all activities, images, and HL7 messages, accessible only through an administration function that is secured.
