Advice on Optimizing the Software Development Process and Performance as an Individual

I have had difficulties meeting target deadlines recently, due to an incapacitating illness. In addition, the expectations require that I step up my game in order to impress my boss and I thus have a large amount of technical debt.
I have four different project in three programming languages, of which at least one could benefit from finalization over the weekend (including Sunday). I have 3 years of experience, but no formal training, and I am looking for someone with ideally 20+ years of experience with handling deadlines, and communication with, or as, a superior, and very specific help with the concrete points listed below. Experience with a functional programming paradigm desirable. (Experience with OOP assumed.)
Your task is to help me:
1. Structure my work plan so that I can meet one delivery, let's call it a 3-day sprint.
1.1. Implement or demonstrate, based on your own experience: proven methods for the personal development cycle (i.e. wisdom).
1.2. Respond to these challenges: testdriven development versus need-for-speed (not confidence), organizing code (spaghetti vs. modular risk), decisions that promote speed but guides away from hacks and repetition.
1.3. Understand how I could structure my work to guarantee more flow (or fun) in the process. For example, when should I be reading manuals and how can I put my WPM to use? Should I be using class templates and top-down strategies? Micro-cycles and timers? What coffee beans? (Seriously though: how to structure breaks.)
1.4. Additionally, if you have any recommendations on how to communicate my progress to my boss, provide them.
2. If time allows, based on point 1., suggest sustainable principles of best practice for my future work.
