Goals of this project. Create a POC that proves the Mule 3.4 ESB config and or Java custom code required for Mule to be a TCP server and an appropriate Java-based TCP client tester. =========== Back ground ============= I want to configure Mule to be a TCP Server. Example full realized flow: I want to receive WMQ messages from external sources, then output to TCP for client(s) to connect and consume. I have proven so far: - Mule as TCP Client to Poll - Mule as a basic TCP echo - Mule to Receive WMQ But I can't seem to understand how to receive message in one side of a flow and then have then waiting to be received by a connected TCP client. An example of a real-life use-case is I have a third party-vendor who wants to be a TCP client and connect to my environment i.e. I act as the TCP server (Within Mule). They can then receive messages for me once they connect, and they can also send me information if they wish one they are connected. The answer may require custom code maybe my own TCP protocol? or Custom Mule Component Please find me the solution with appropriate code to demonstrate.

I have 6 years experience in JAVA, SOA and very much interested in your project. I have some basic knowledge in MULE, but not an expert, but I am confident, that I can do this. In your case you are acting as a SOCKET Server. When a client connects to you you will be notified, but not sure if MULE sends this information to the out-port/one-end, if if the server requires to send some welcome message to all the connected clients once they connects, then we might send some message in random intervals to one-end/in-port of MULE connector, and MULE Socket connector will send this message to all the clients same as ping message. But here client requires additional handling of ping messages. Otherwise a custom code require to send the welcome message once the client connects to you. I am little bit confused about your requirement. Does you want a single MULE Socket connector should send/receive messages to clients OR MULE SOcket connector should act as synchronous connector means receive some message from teh client and respond based on the received message in which out-end will be connected to in-end of connector with some transformations. Please correct me if I am in wrong direction. Thanks, Poorna.
