Build Me Some Software

Hello, Very simple software. Just need to crawl the website, extract the links and open them. Broken links will send a http error(403 not found, 404 access denied, ...). I can do it in python and convert it to a simple exe file. Or you we can develop it as a service and you can run it on a linux server. Thanks, Helmot

I can write you a highly efficient C# program that does what you want. It will be multithreaded and I'll use 2 methods of scanning for broken links: 1. One that simply downloads the HTML sources and only scans for HTML links. This will be extremely fast and work for msot websites. 2. One that uses Internet Explorer's rendering engine (that is, of course, available on any Windows machine) to render the pages. This will be slower but will also work on JS generated links. You also get the program's source code and 2 years of free support and debugging.

Ok so you want a software which will check if the links you have provided on a page are still vaild or not ? I can help you there. I have worked alot on java scrappers and can make a good GUI based app which will check all the pages which will be given to it through an excel sheet. It will tell which links are broken by making an excel sheet output file. So you give the app an excel sheet with the html pages and the app gives u excel sheet with the broken links and pages.
